Become a Ring and Ride Driver

Who is Ring and Ride for?

Ring and Ride is provided for shopping, hospital and hairdresser appointments ect for people who are either unable to use conventional public transport services or for whom no such services are availble.


People Operating the Service

With the exception of a part time Transport Coordinator the Ring and Ride service relies soley on volunteers i.e. drivers and those who take bookings.


I want to become a volunteer driver, what happens next?
 

  1. You complete application forms.
  2. Criminal Records Bureau check.
  3. We will issue you with an I.D badge.
  4. We take your bank account details (to make payments to you)
  5. We will explain how to use the ' Fare Card' and its use.
  6. We issue you with a Herefordshire car park pass.
  7. We explain the use of mileage claim forms.
  8. Your driving licence, insurance and MOT will be checked.

When do I volunteer?

We will ask you which day(s) and times you will be availble to drive.


Will I get mileage reimbersment?


Yes, drivers are reimbursed for mileage used for passenger journeys and addtional 'dead' mileage used passengers journeys.
